Marin Marina and Alexa Byers Earn PSUAC Accolades for Greater Allegheny Soccer

University Park, Pa. - Representing the Penn State Greater Allegheny soccer teams, junior midfielder Marin Marina (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and freshman goaltender Alexa Byers (Spring Creek, Pa./Corry Area High) earned Player of the Week and Goalie of the Week, respectively, in the Penn State University Athletic Conference for the week of September 13, 2016.

Marina scored two goals and an assist in the men's soccer 3-3 tie over PSUAC foe, Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Sunday. The junior also contributed the lone goal in the 1-1 tie over Mount Aloysius.

Currently, Marina is tied for first in the PSUAC in goals with six, first in shots and second in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) with 30, tied third in assists with two, and second in points with 14.

Byers earns her first PSUAC Goalie of the Week honor after a 5-1 win over Westmoreland County Community College before tending 70 minutes in the 2-0 drop over Penn State Mont Alto.
