Rodjrecko Christian Dubbed Champion at NCWA Mid-East Regional Qualifiers

Glen Burnie, Md. - Freshman Rodjrecko Christian (Pittsburgh, Pa./Westinghouse) claims the NCWA Mid-East Conference Championship for the first time in Penn State Greater Allegheny men's wrestling history, Saturday afternoon.

In the first round of action, Rodjrecko opened the 235-pound weight class with a 16-5 major decision over Max Elliot of Penn State Mont Alto.

Christian then advanced from the quarter-finals to the semi-finals with a 17-2 technical fall over Kristopher Cassara of Towson.

With a 4-2 decision over familiar foe, Tim Suydan of Penn State DuBois, Rodjrecko advanced to the Mid-East Conference Championships.

The freshman claimed the title of the National Collegiate Wrestling Association Mid-East Conference champion as the 235-pounder decisioned Jeremy Benton of Penn State Club by a score of 7-4.

Next on the horizon for Penn State Greater Allegheny men's wrestling team is the National tournament March 12th and 13th.
