Wrestlers Give Strong Performances In W&J Open
Washington, Pa- The Penn State Greater Allegheny Wrestling team began its inaugural season by sending seven wrestlers to compete in the Washington and Jefferson Open.
Two GA participants would earn wins, with Freshman Andre Ellis (Steel Valley) earning the program's first-ever victory, at 285 lbs. Ellis ended the day going 1-2. Fellow Freshman Nick Hough (Mt. Pleasant) turned in the strongest performance of the afternoon for Greater Allegheny, as he earned a 2-2 record, wrestling at 125 lbs.
Next up for the GA wrestlers, a November 16 trip to Penn College, with the match beginning at 7:00 PM.
