Bucsok Named PSUAC Goalie of the Week
The PSUAC released it's weekly awards last night and PSUGA Goalkeeper Colin Bucsok was named this week's Men's Soccer Goalie of the Week. Bucsok came up with 20 saves in 25 chances helping his team to a 2-1 record.
McKeesport, PA. – The Penn State University Athletic Conference released their weekly awards on Tuesday night and Penn State Greater Allegheny Soccer player Colin Bucsok (Pittsburgh, PA./Thomas Jefferson HS) was named this week’s PSUAC Men’s Soccer Goalie of the Week. Bucsok recorded his seventh career shutout and tied the PSUGA program record for wins by a goalie over the week while helping his team to a 2-1 record.
Bucsok allowed five goals in three games over the course of the week while facing 25 shots on net and making 20 saves. Bucsok scored his seventh career shutout against PSU-New Kensington on Wednesday and tied the school record for career wins by a goalie helping his team down PSU-Scranton 2-1 on Saturday.
Bucsok is having another solid season in net in 2018 through his team’s first five games coming up with 34 saves on 45 shots on goal good for a .756 save percentage. He currently ranks fifth in the PSUAC in save percentage while ranking third in goals per game average sitting at 2.26 behind Brandywine’s Ben Welden and New Kensington’s Chris Zolet.
Bucsok is winning the PSUAC Goalie of the week award for the second time in his career after being named the award recipient once a season ago. He was also honored by the PSUAC last season being named a PSUAC All-Conference Honorable Mention as a goalkeeper.
Bucsok and his team will be back in action on Saturday when they go on the road for a two day trip that will see them face Valley Forge on Saturday and PSU-Hazleton on Sunday after their game with PSU-Mont Alto got postponed Tuesday night.
