McKeesport, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny men's soccer team was on the road this past weekend, as they traveled to Penn State Brandywine for a match on Saturday and Penn State York on Sunday.
At Brandywine, freshman Manoj Sharma (India/Baldwin) was the only Greater Allegheny Lion to achieve a shot throughout 90 minutes of play. Freshman goaltender Michael Anderson (Herminie, Pa./Yough) got peppered with 23 shots on goal, saving 16. GA managed two cornerkicks in the second half. Going on to be heavily outshot, GA fell to Brandywine 7-0.
Greater Allegheny moved on to Penn State York Sunday afternoon. Sophomore forward Ghana Phuyel (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) managed to rip two shots on goal, both of them being saved. Anderson again in net, stopped 14 shots on goal out of 18. GA went unanswered in the 4-0 takeover.
PSUGA (2-7, 1-5) looks onward to Tuesday, as they travel alongside the women's soccer team for a PSUAC conference double-header over Penn State Beaver. Kick-off for the men is scheduled for 4 p.m.
