Greenville, Pa. - Freshman Manoj Sharma (India/Baldwin) tallied the only goal for the Lions Wednesday evening, as the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's soccer team traveled to Thiel College for a non-conference match-up.
The first half went unscored for GA as Thiel added three.
To open the second half, Thiel notched another, swelling their lead to four. A minute and 22 seconds later, Sharma received a ball from sophomore Ghana Phuyel (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin), striking a ball into the mesh in the 48th minute.
Goaltender Michael Anderson (Herminie, Pa./Yough) faced eight shots on goal, saving five. He only played 56 minutes due to injury.
For the remainder of the game, we saw joint goalkeeping efforts from sophomore Petrie Anderson (Fort Myers, Fla./Florida Christian) and freshman Qimin Sun (Beijing, China/Manitou Springs). Petrie faced six shots, saving four. Qimin saw three shots on goal, stoping two.
Greater Allegheny (2-5, 1-3) travel to Penn State Brandywine for a conference match-up on September 28. Kick-off is set for 2 p.m.
