McKeesport, Pa. - Despite freshman Manoj Sharma's (India/Baldwin) first-half goal, the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's soccer (2-4, 1-3) team went on to suffer a loss to Penn State Wilkes-Barre (3-2, 2-2) in conference play, 3-1.
Sharma was the first player to tally a goal in the game, though it was not for long. Wilkes-Barre netted the tying goal just 45 seconds later. Wilkes-Barre would go on to earn another to close the first half in the 33rd minute.
Wilkes-Barre was able to achieve another goal to bring their score to three in the 64th minute.
Freshman goalkeeper Michael Anderson (Herminie, Pa./Yough) faced 11 shots on goal, saving eight.
The GA Lions will return to action Sept. 25, as they travel to Thiel College for non-conference play. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
