Men's Basketball Keeps Pace in Playoff Seeding
McKeesport, Pa. – February 7, 2026 – Penn State Greater Allegheny earned a hard-fought 67–61 victory over Penn State Shenango on Saturday afternoon inside Wunderley Gym.
Greater Allegheny set the tone early, building a 36–32 lead at halftime behind balanced scoring and active defensive pressure. The Lions maintained their composure in the second half, matching Shenango's push and outscoring the visitors 31–29 over the final 20 minutes to secure the six-point win.
Jordan Poole led Penn State Greater Allegheny with 18 points and six assists, controlling the tempo throughout the contest. Elijah Hannon delivered a strong all-around performance with 17 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, while Biagio Crossley and Xavier Gaffney each added 12 points. As a team, Greater Allegheny shot 42.6 percent from the field, recorded 18 assists, and forced pressure that resulted in 10 steals.
Penn State Shenango was led by Izzy Santiago's 18 points, with Kevon Washington contributing 13 and Darius Williams adding 12. Shenango finished with a 34–32 rebounding edge but was held to 36.4 percent shooting from the floor.
With the win, Penn State Greater Allegheny moves to 9–12 overall and 7–7 in conference play. The Lions' balanced scoring and defensive effort proved decisive as they protected their home court down the stretch.
