Greater Allegheny Wins Three of Four Against Du Bois in Key Conference Stretch

Penn State Greater Allegheny turned in a strong weekend, winning three of four games against Penn State Du Bois behind balanced offense, timely power, and resilient pitching across multiple contests.
Game 1 – April 17
Greater Allegheny 7, Du Bois 4
Greater Allegheny opened the series with a road win, using the long ball and early momentum to secure a 7–4 victory. After Du Bois plated three runs in the first inning, the Lions responded quickly as Duston Strom launched a three-run homer in the second to regain the lead.
Eric Valentin added a solo home run in the seventh, while Julian Santiago and Zachary Williams each drove in a run. On the mound, Gabe Kendrick earned the win with six solid innings, striking out six, and Brian Dupuis closed the door in the seventh.
Game 2 – April 17
Du Bois 5, Greater Allegheny 2
Du Bois evened the series in the nightcap, limiting Greater Allegheny to two hits in a 5–2 defeat. The Lions scored twice in the opening inning, but Du Bois starter Maclain Welshans settled in and struck out 14 over seven innings.
Greater Allegheny starter Matthew Rivera worked five innings before Du Bois took the lead in the middle frames. A sixth-inning home run provided the insurance run as Du Bois pulled away late.
Game 3 – April 18
Greater Allegheny 7, Du Bois 4
Greater Allegheny bounced back quickly on Saturday, riding a complete-game effort from Brayden Patton to a 7–4 win. Patton went all seven innings, allowing four runs while keeping Du Bois in check when runners reached base.
The Lions' offense struck early, highlighted by a first-inning home run from Eric Valentin, who finished the game with three hits and two RBIs. Greater Allegheny totaled 14 hits in the contest, with Robert Amell, Zachary Williams, and Julian Santiago also driving in runs.
Game 4 – April 18
Greater Allegheny 8, Du Bois 5
The series finale saw Greater Allegheny complete a three-win stretch with an 8–5 victory at West Mifflin High School. After Du Bois jumped out to a 3–0 lead in the first inning, the Lions methodically worked their way back before breaking the game open with a five-run fifth inning.
Shemar Barr delivered the decisive blow with a two-run double during the rally and finished with three RBIs, including a solo home run earlier in the game. Robert Amell added two RBIs, while Julian Santiago, Cole Rusak, and Koleton Grishkevich also contributed run-scoring hits.
On the mound, Lucas Demchak earned the win in relief, pitching three innings and limiting Du Bois to two earned runs. Greater Allegheny totaled 12 hits as the offense capitalized on key opportunities in the middle innings.
