University Park, Pa. - Through their hard-work in the 2016-17 Penn State University Athletic Conference playoff run, junior outside hitter Laura Vazquez-Diaz (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cupey Maria Montessori) and sophomore setter Courtney Odell Shadd (Hanover Park, Ill./Bartlett) were named to the PSUAC All-Conference team for their dedication to the Penn State Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team.
Vazquez-Diaz was named to the Second-Team All-Conference list after her work for GA as hitter. In her third season with the blue-and-white, Laura appeared in 19 matches, 65 sets, this season, as the powerhouse added came down on 142 kills for an average of 2.18 kills per set. Vazquez-Diaz put up a total of 233 digs, 27 service aces, seven assists and five total blocks with an overall point contribution of 171.5.
Odell-Shadd earned Second-Team All-Conference after her effort in all 19 matches, 65 sets. The sophomore set up a career-high 369 assists, adding that to her total 647 assists through two seasons. She continued her work this year with 109 digs, 32 service aces, 21 kills and 14 total blocks for an overall addition of 62 points this season.
