Greater Allegheny Wrestling Opens 2015 at Waynesburg Invitational

Waynesburg, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny men's wrestling team began their second semester of action at the Waynesburg Invitational, Saturday afternoon.

Greater Allegheny welcomed just freshman Rodjrecko Christian (Pittsburgh, Pa./Westinghouse) to the mat on the day, who wrestled in the 285-pound weight class as the rest of the men weren't able to make it back from winter break.

After a first-round bye, Christian defeated Muskingum University's Brandon Scott by fall in a time of 3:31.

In semi-final action, Rodjrecko lost by major decision 10-0 to Ohio Northern's Cody Lovejoy. The freshman rebounded in the consolation semi-finals with a pin over Waynesburg's Shane Lowman in a time of 3:07.

With a 8-2 decision over Aerison Parrish of Alderson-Broaddus, Rodjrecko Christian earned himself a third place finish at the Waynesburg Invitational in the 185-pound weight class.

Through the competition, the lone wrestler gained 18 points, sitting Greater Allegheny in seventh place out of eight teams.

Penn State Greater Allegheny will regroup the team and travel to the University of Mount Union, Saturday, January 25th for a 7:45 a.m. weigh-in.
