Defiance, Ohio - The Penn State Greater Allegheny men's wrestling team traveled to Defiance, Ohio, Sunday, to go up against Penn State Beaver and Defiance.
What started as a quad-meet quickly turned into a tri-meet, as Dayton had to cancel.
Freshman 141-pounder Camden Anderson (Atlanta, Ga./Keystone Oaks) dropped by technical fall to Beaver's Wendall Rubright. Anderson bumped up to 149 to go up against Defiance's Brett Sampson, where Anderson lost by fall.
Freshman Marino Swanson (Swissvale, Pa./Propel Braddock Hills) wrestled Penn State Beaver's Seth Shiever to go on and lose by fall. Swanson went up against Defiance, as he won by forfeit.
Freshman Nathaniel Muse (Staten Island, N.Y./Petrides) won by forfeit in the 157 pound weight class over Defiance by forfeit. Muse dropped to Beaver's Dustin Winkle by med. default.
Freshman Taqee Burns (New York, N.Y./Benjamin N. Cardozo) wins by decision over Defiance's, AJ Millwood, by a score of 9-2. Burns dropped by tech fall over Penn State Beaver's, Ryan Bradfield.
Freshman Jaire Mondesir (Paulding County, Ga./East Paulding) found victory in the 235-pound weight class, as he won by forfeit over Penn State Beaver. In his match against Defiance's Beau Swank, Mondesir dropped by fall.
Freshman Rodjrecko Christian (Pittsburgh, Pa./Westinghouse) found victory from not only Penn State Beaver, but also Defiance in the 285 weight class. Over Beaver, Christian found victory by forfeit. Over Defiance, Christian won by fall over Guy DiCicco.
In the end, Greater Allegheny fell short of Beaver, 24-22.
The Greater Allegheny wrestlers are scheduled to travel to Penn State Beaver for a Penn State University Athletic Conference tri-meet with Penn State DuBois.
