Lion Men's Soccer Upended by Thiel, 4-0

Greenville, Pa. - In a non-conference match-up, the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's soccer team traveled to Thiel College, Saturday afternoon, where the men were shorted 4-0 through regulation.

Freshman goaltender Prakash Wagley (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) guarded the net for just over 82 minutes before sophomore goalie Mark Gobbie (Glassport, Pa./South Allegheny) came in for the final eight. Wagley faced 14 shots on goal, stopping ten. Gobbie had one shot, one save.

Sophomore midfielder Belmo Nurkic (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) posted four shots while freshman midfielder Ronnie Caldro, senior midfielder Gerardo Diaz-Perez (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico/Immaculate Conception Academy) and junior midfielder Nick Andrews (Penn Hills, Pa./Serra Catholic).

As a team, Greater Allegheny was out-shot 32-11.

Greater Allegheny (3-2-2, 1-1-1 PSUAC) looks forward to Penn State University Athletic Conference action, Saturday October 1st, when Penn State Mont Alto comes to Francis McClure for a 3 p.m. kick-off.
