Greater Allegheny Men's Soccer Falls to Brandywine 3-1

North Huntingdon, Pa. - Freshman midfielder Marin Marina (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) notched the lone goal in the 3-1 drop to the undefeated Penn State University Athletic Conference adversary, Penn State Brandywine.

Senior goalkeeper Qimin (Henry) Sun (Beijing, China/Manitou Springs) saw 13 shots to assist Greater Allegheny to hold Brandywine to just one through the first half. 

A penalty kick came about twenty minutes into the first half, advancing Brandywine 2-0. Marina added the tally with less than eight minutes left to play through regulation. Brandywine obtained a corner kick four and a half minutes later, boosting their final score to 3-1.

Sun finished his first complete game facing 23 shots through regulation, making ten saves. Marina recorded three shots as sophomore midfielder Gerardo Diaz (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico/Immaculate Concepcion Academy) and sophomore midfielder Bengaly Diane (New Jersey/James J. Ferris) contribute two shots apiece.

Greater Allegheny (2-6-1, 1-2-1 PSUAC) looks onward to another conference match-up, as Penn State Beaver comes to Turner Valley in North Huntingdon, Pa. The second portion of the double-header with the women is set to begin around 4 p.m. on Wednesday October, 1st.
