University Park, Pa. - Through a 2-0 Penn State University Athletic Conference week for the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's basketball team, junior forward Curtis Newby (Sharon, Pa./Sharon) has earned himself the Penn State University Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of February 7th, 2017.
In the two wins, Curt contributed a total of 37 points, 22 rebounds, two steals, two blocks and two assists.
In the 99-87 win over Penn State Fayette, Newby recorded a double-double with 20 points, ten rebounds, one steal and one block with 83.3% (10-of-12) of his shots falling from the foul line.
In the 82-77 win over Penn State New Kensington, Curtis dropped another double-double with 17 points, twelve rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
Newby currently holds fourth place in the PSUAC for blocks with 27, sixth in steals (39), defensive rebounds (142), total rebounds (205) and rebounds per game (9.3).
