University Park, Pa. - With his major contribution under the basket through a pair of crucial United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) victories this past weekend, sophomore forward George Prota (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) has earned not only the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week accolade, but also the USCAA Men's Division II Basketball Player of the Week honor for the week of December 20th, 2016.
In the first contest of the weekend over SUNY-Delhi, Prota completed 60% (6-of-10) of his shots from the floor in 32 minutes of action. The forward marked 13 points with nine boards, two assists and a block in the 83-82 robbery over Delhi.
On Saturday in the 66-61 slide past Apprentice, George registered a double-double with 11 rebounds and ten points alongside an assist and block in his 31 minutes played. Prota completed 80% (4-of-5) from the foul line.
The sophomore netted a total of 23 points, 20 rebounds, three assists and two blocks while shooting 50% (9-of-18) from the field. Greater Allegheny moves to 9-4 overall and 3-1 PSUAC.
