Greater Allegheny Women's Soccer and Cross Country Sweeps PSUAC Student-Athlete of the Week

University Park, Pa. - After a strong week of competition, the Penn State Greater Allegheny women's soccer team and cross country teams earn Penn State University Athletic Conference Student-Athletes of the Week accolades for the week of October 8th, 2014.

For women's soccer, freshman goaltender Jen Keefer (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) earned herself the Penn State University Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week for her efforts through the Penn State Beaver match-up this past week. Through 60 minutes of action, Keefer made eleven saves, allowing just one goal in the 6-2 swell.

Sophomore midfielder Melissa Loftus (Oxford, Pa./Oxford) was awarded with the Penn State University Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts through the 1-1 week for Greater Allegheny. In the 6-2 trump over Beaver, Loftus recorded two goals and three assists for a seven point day.

For cross country on the women's side, Greater Allegheny's sophomore Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, Pa./East Allegheny) earned herself the PSUAC Student-Athlete of the Week for women's cross country, after her efforts in the Pitt-Greensburg Invitational this past Saturday. Rachel placed 11th out of 76 primarily Division-III competitors in a time of 20:29.

On the men's side, Greater Allegheny's freshman Codie Buglar (Elizabeth, Pa./Yough) was awarded with the Penn State University Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for men's cross country. Buglar finished 47th out of an 8k-field of 72, made up mostly of Division-III runners.  He set personal best with a time of 32:37.
