Newport News, Va. - As the 2016-17 fall sports wrap up, six Penn State Greater Allegheny student-athletes have been named to the USCAA All-Academic list for their work in the classroom.
National All-Academic team honors are awarded to student-athletes of sophomore standing or higher with at least a 3.5 GPA.
From the women's soccer team, senior defender Jess Manfredi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic), sophomore midfielder Mikayla Diak (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) and sophomore forward Gaby Selmi (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Owen-Withee) were named to the list.
The men's soccer team was represented by sophomore forward Marin Marina (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin).
Junior right side Emily Taylor (Aliquippa, Pa./Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter) was named to the list from women's volleyball.
Sophomore Michael Risnear (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) rounded out the list from the men's cross country team.
Congratulations to these student-athletes for their dedication to not only their sport, but even more so to the classroom.
